We wanted to take a hike in the canyon narrows. It is a spectacular place. Unfortunately, we weren't really prepared for such a hike in a rocky river with water reaching depths over waist high. But we did our best - sharp rocks, cold water, and all.
Tsukiko and Yoshiko are thinking about removing thier shoes and socks to proceed upstream. | With their walking sticks in hand, they head out into the cold water |
Tsukiko found a warm spring and is warming her toes | Yoshiko heads on upstream. |
Uh oh, the water is getting quite deep up ahead. Time for a picture and then turn around and head back. | Yoshiko is making sure her shoes don't get wet. |
Both Yoshiko and Tsukiko are heading back carrying their shoes in one
hand and a walking stick in the other.
