SOUTHWEST TRIP
2000
Zion National Park

We wanted to take a hike in the canyon narrows. It is a spectacular place. Unfortunately, we weren't really prepared for such a hike in a rocky river with water reaching depths over waist high. But we did our best - sharp rocks, cold water, and all.

The Narrows

Tsukiko and Yoshiko are thinking about removing thier
shoes and socks to proceed upstream.

With their walking sticks in hand, they head out into the cold water

Tsukiko found a warm spring and is warming her toes

Yoshiko heads on upstream.

Uh oh, the water is getting quite deep up ahead.
Time for a picture and then turn around and head back.

Yoshiko is making sure her shoes don't get wet.

Both Yoshiko and Tsukiko are heading back carrying their shoes in one hand and a walking stick in the other.
