Oregon Trip 2005 - Shelter Cove
![]() |
Saturday morning we went to town (Ferndale) to buy some meat from the local meat company. (Local meat made the old fashioned way). Put it in our freezer and then headed south to Shelter Cove and the Lost Beach. WOW! What a drive with our trailer! The truck's brakes were gone by the time we arrived. What a secluded, and wonderful, spot. A beautiful area! Nice coast (rugged and dramatic), a lighthouse. Great fishing. Nice restaurants. No tourist traps. We got a nice trailer RV site with a beautiful view of the ocean and the lighthouse. The most memorable campsite we've been in. Dread the drive out tomorrow, though. What a hellish road.
