Oregon Trip 2005 - Oregon Coast - Brookings
![]() | On Wednesday we headed south for the California border, stopping at viewpoints
along the way. When we reached Harris Beach near Brookings, OR. it was so beautiful
that we decided to stop there for the night. We went to the beach and took a
lot of photos of the rock formations. Next morning (Thursday) we went down to
the beach again at low tide to see some of the sea creatures in the rocks and
pools there.
On Wednesday we headed south for the California border, stopping at viewpoints along the way. When we reached Harris Beach near Brookings, OR., it was so beautiful that we decided to stop there for the night. (No 24 on map). We were actually quite near the Oregon-California border. Harris Beach State Park had a quite unique campground, Each site was isolated by hedges and were very private. Not only was there electricity, water and sewer hook-up at each site, there was also cable TV hook-up and wireless internet access. And, there was a very nice laundromat just a few yards from out campsite. I have never seen any other state, county, or federal park with such amenities. We went to the beach and took a lot of photos of the rock formations. Next morning (Thursday) we went down to the beach again at low tide to see some of the sea creatures in the rocks and pools there before continuing south to California.. |
