This
year we took a 32 day trailer trip visit some of the scenic areas in the
State of Oregon that we usually pass by quickly on our way to somewhere
else. We obtained information from the state of Oregon which described
some 23 scenic byways. We covered about a third of these routes on our
trip. In addition, we wanted to visit and stay in many of Oregon's fine
state parks in their reputedly fine campgrounds. Target areas for our
trip included: 1) Crater Lake, 2) Lava Fields, 3) Cascade Lakes, 4) John
Day Fossil Beds, 6) Wallowa Lake and Hells Canyon, 7) Columbia River,
8) Willamette Valley, 9) Oregon Coast, and 10) Northern California Coast.
A map of our route is shown left.
A trip narrative with links to pictures and descriptions of some of the particular regions we visited are shown on the next pages. If you follow these you will have a chance to see and read about some of the interesting areas we visited. Please take your time and visit the sections at your leisure if you wish. We hope you will enjoy a vicarious visit to these places through these pages. Steve & Yoshiko |
