8/26/01 (Sunday) - Breckenridge and Frisco
Today we slept in late at the fancy Tiger Run RV Park. I went and did my laundry at a really fancy laundry room. All the appliances were state-of-the-art electronic and neat to use. I thought I'd be the only one there. Wrong.
Many folks went to 9am church service and dumped their laundry first. Also, since it was Sunday, some people who were leaving were getting their last wash in. I lucked out and got a washer fairly soon so we finished up a little after 10 am and then went into the town of Breckenridge. Boy! Has that place really grown since I was last there 30 years ago. We walked the main street and looked in the shops and found one really nice art gallery that we both liked a lot.
We went back to Silverthorne for the last performance of the Alpenglo Chamber Music Festival. It was SUPERB! The musicians are real artists of the first caliber. I especially enjoyed the last piece, Mozart's quintet for clarinet and strings. Anyway, going to the festival and meeting the artists really has made this a memorable trip for us.
Later we stopped in Frisco for gas, groceries and souvenir shopping. Frisco is between Silverthorne (about 4 miles away) and Breckenridge (about 9 miles away).
There is a large lake next to Frisco
Back at "camp" I BBQ'd some marinated chicken and we had some fresh corn on the cob and tomato salad for dinner. Nice finish to the nice day.
