Bodie, now a California Sate Historic Park, is an old ghost town. Built primarily in the rush in 1878 it was a thriving gold mining town until 1932 when a large fire (the second in the town's history) destroyed most of the town. At it's peak the population was over 10,000. It came under the protection of the State of California Department of Parks and Recreation in 1962. Bodie is located about 11 miles due north of Mono Lake.
Bodie is a photographer's paradise. I have 51 images posted on the four pages. My favorites are posted first, so you may want to look at those if you don't want to see all 51.
