In the summer of 2003 we embarked on a four month journey across the continental United States and back.
We departed from the San Francisco Bay area the first week in May with our Airstream travel trailer and headed for Indianapolis, IN to attend the Indy 500 and participate in the 10-day WBCCI* Airstream rally.
From Indianapolis we headed north to Chicago, around the great lakes to Niagra Falls and on to Burlington, VT where we participated, along with some 2000 other Airstream units, in the 10-day, 2003 WBCCI International Rally.
After Burlington our travels took us to Nova Scotia and then back down the New England coast to New York City where we participated in the 4-day Statue of Liberty rally.
From New York City we headed back home, through Chicago and on to the Grand Tetons and Yellowstone National Parks. Then to northern Montana and back down to the San Francisco Bay area at the end of August.
We logged just over 15,000 miles, of which nearly 11,000 were pulling our 25' Airstream trailer. The map below outlines the overall route and the subsequent web pages include photos and commentary describing some of our experiences on this trip.
