A Cross Country Odyssey - 2003

Huckleberry Picking

One days activity wes to drive up the mountains to pick wild huckleberries. They grow above 4000 feet elevation in cleared areas near the woods.

After picking hucleberries for 3 hours we stopped for lunch

The Forest Service road had little traffic so we enjoyed a peaceful and relaxing lunch next to it.

This looks ike Steve's bucket of huckleberries - about half full. We got about 14 quarts between the four of us.

Steve grew a moustache of deer moss

At home the huckleberries are spread out for cleaning

The ladies are seen here cleaning the huckleberries.
