Grand Canyon of the Yellowstone

The Grand Canyon of the Yellowstone is the basis for the name Yellowstone. It is a long and deep colorful canyon that has been carved by the Yellowstone river.

The upper falls at the head of the canyon.

We took Uncle Tom's trail to near the base of these falls.

Tsukiko is seen coming up the trail. It was quite steep and scary. Especially for Steve who was wearing sandals.

Tsukiko is seen here at Artist's Point with the falls, canyon and river behind.

Downstream is the river and an ever deepening canyon
