About 100 miles or so by road south of Bar Harbor is Booth Bay, ME. In addition to being a picturesque place in its own right it is also conveniently close to the town of Wiscasset and Freeport, two places we wanted to visit as well. In Wiscasset there is a wonderful music box museum and in Freeport, the home of L.L. Bean, there are many factory outlet stores, including the Bean stores.

A popular game in New England is candle pin bowling. Tsukiko is showing her form here |
Yoshiko is bowling her. There are 10 slender pins placed in a unique pattern. The ball is small and difficult to control. No finger holes |

This inlet was our view from camp. The tidal changescaused the water to totally disappear at low tide |
