A Cross Country Odyssey - 2003

Booth Bay, Maine

About 100 miles or so by road south of Bar Harbor is Booth Bay, ME. In addition to being a picturesque place in its own right it is also conveniently close to the town of Wiscasset and Freeport, two places we wanted to visit as well. In Wiscasset there is a wonderful music box museum and in Freeport, the home of L.L. Bean, there are many factory outlet stores, including the Bean stores.

The town of Boothbay Harbor had many nice shops and restaurants.

This dockside restaurant had nice bacony seating.

The harbor was full of pleasure boats

Lobster boats can also be seen in the harbor

A popular game in New England is candle pin bowling. Tsukiko is showing her form here

Yoshiko is bowling her. There are 10 slender pins placed in a unique pattern. The ball is small and difficult to control. No finger holes

Dinner table at our campsite in Booth Bay

This inlet was our view from camp. The tidal changescaused the water to totally disappear at low tide
