A Cross Country Odyssey - 2003

Lunenburg, Nova Scotia

The town of Lunenburg has colorful and interesting architecture. It still retains much of the Swiss and German character brought there by its founders in 1623. We stayed at the Lunenburg Board of Trade campground right in town and it was a convenient place from which to explore the area.

Colorful wood frame structures are the signature of the town's architecture

A beautiful harbor is home for pleasure sail boats and commercial fishing boats as well.

A local artist made attractive signs for all of the shop owners in town

Tsukiko and Yoshiko are thinking about a place for dinner. The lobster looks like a good idea

A typical merchant's home with the windowed rooms over the fron door

A large waterfront restaurant

Tourists can see the town from a horse drawn carriage. We decide to walk

More interesting signs by the local artist.
