A Cross Country Odyssey - 2003

Finger Lakes Region

The region around the Finger Lakes is rich in agriculture. The weather is moderated by both Lake Ontario and the Finger Lake region geography. We visited several New York state wineries and went to a large farmers market

Below are scenes around Lake Seneca

Wine tasting in a winery by the lake. Ice wine is often featured here. We like the local grape varieties best.

Blossoms

We bought this large tomato from a Mennonite farmer at the farmer's market. He didn't seem to happy to have his photo taken. But we did ask permission.

In the mornings fog often lies over the lakes. The finger lakes lie in long valleys.

The cats like the console between the front seats of the truck. Taro is about twice the size of Aiko

Tsukiko and this cow have similar expressions. At the farmer's market.
