A Cross Country Odyssey - 2003

Utah and Colorado

A stand of aspen with spring snow
After arriving at the campground in Beaver, UT., we took a nearby scenic loop drive. Much to our surprize we soon ran into snow and ice and had to turn back before completing the loop.
Yoshiko is standing by a still frozen lake. Even though it was early May, we were not expecting snow and ice on our trip. Nearby we saw several large wild turkeys.

We planned a two night stopover in Fruit, CO, but due to passing spring storms we ended up staying three nights. To find shelter from the perodic showers we had our group gatherings and meals in the camp's laundry room.

Rodney and Julia are using the clothes driers as countertops for our buffet dinner.

Ken and Fred have come to get their servings as well.

A dining table was set up in the laundry room and we each brought our own chairs. Bev, Ken, Julia and Fred seated.
