Rose Parade Rally |
San Fernando Valley Unit |
| Pasadena, California |
Some of us went to Pasadena to watch the Rose Parade with the San Fernando Valley Unit. Forty units dry camped five days and four nights behind the School District Office. Breakfast and most dinners were provided. We went to the Norton Simon Museum, Getty Museum and Autry Museum of Western Heritage (a great museum, by the way). There were two light tours. Oh and by the way did I mention that several of us worked on the Cal Poly float on several days. Finally, the chairs were taken to Colorado Avenue and at Noon sharp they were placed on the sidewalk. From that moment until the parade started several people guarded our chairs. Your web master arrived late and of course drew the 4 am to 6 am slot. The street was one large outdoor camp ground. Next to us was a couple on lawn chairs asleep under several blankets (it was cold!). On top of the fella was a Yellow Lab but he had his own sweater and was under the top blanket.
